Born to Ron Peeks and Theresa Wagner, Roni was surrounded by her family’s boundless love. Though her early years were filled with change and challenge, she met them all with strength, unshakable courage, and a fearless smile that could light any room.
Each chapter of her journey only deepened her strength and spirit, shaping the extraordinary woman she became.
No matter where she went or how often she had to start over, she never stayed “the new girl” for long - her warmth, humor, and magnetic energy drew people in instantly.
Roni was the proud and loving mother leaving behind two daughters, Briana Moody and Jerelyn Cortez Morrow, a grandson who was her "favorite person on this earth" Emileo and her devoted partner Drew, the love of her life and her steadfast companion with whom she shared 3 dogs and 1 cat.
She shared an especially deep bond with her stepmom, and confidant Kelley Peeks, whose unwavering love and support were a constant source of strength. Roni forever cherished brothers, sisters and cousins whose laughter, shared memories, and lifelong connection brought her endless joy. Her love for her family was the thread that ran through everything she did - strong, bright, and unbreakable.
By trade, Roni was a nurse - compassionate, capable, and deeply devoted to helping others. But her talents didn’t stop there. She was endlessly creative, an inventive DIYer, gardener and thrifter who could turn ordinary items into something beautiful. Whether it was a home project, a heartfelt gift, or a simple act of kindness, she infused everything with her trademark mix of cleverness and care.
Roni leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will echo through the lives of all who knew her. Her family is only beginning to sort through the memories she left behind - countless stories, lessons, and moments that reflect the heart of who she was. Everything her loved ones are - their courage, compassion, and creativity - they owe in some way to her.
Though she is no longer here in person, her spirit remains in every bit of joy, love, and light she brought into the world.
She will forever be missed.
CELEBRATIONS OF LIFE
You are warmly invited to join family and friends in celebrating the life of Roni Lea Peeks at either or both of the two celebrations we're having in her honor.
There will be no formal program - please come when you can and take part in whatever way feels right: through stories, quiet conversation, laughter, or simply being present.
We’ll have food and refreshments to share as we spend time together in her memory.
